Is the auto retailing industry’s mission to only sell a car or also earn a reoccurring customer? Think Digital Lifecycle, where even the digital engagement associated to Digital Retailing abruptly ends before the vehicle sale. Amazon’s transformative impact and massive ongoing revenue is because they’ve solved the desired customer digital engagement before and “after” the sale, that keeps their customers coming back again and again. It’s not a one-time transaction. There is a very valuable lesson here for our auto industry.
